Moving to Drupal + Gallery - help and training needed (Hollywoodish)
City: Losangeles
We are looking for someone who is very comfortable with Drupal and Gallery2 (soon to be 3) to assist us with moving our site from simple HTML to a Drupal + Gallery setup. The site is adult oriented, with a member base and billing system, and over 100,000 images (including thumbnails) that need to be processed through the database to be searchable via metadata keywords. We intend to set up polling, blogging, RSS feeds, flash and video and many other features. But step one is taking the simple site we have and getting it working and looking good within the new system.
We intend to do most of the work ourselves, but we do need a leg up on some of it, especially the “one-time” tasks. So what we need even more is someone who is a very clear and effective communicator and can assist us with learning to work with Drupal and Gallery as we move forward. If things work out well, we will also want a sort of on-call support person, and it would be ideal if the person who helps us get started could fulfill that roll as well.
Please don’t overwhelm with huge resumes that make my eyes cross, especially if you are going to quote $50+ an hour. I prefer to negotiate job-pricing so I can predict the budget. I want to see what you’ve done and be able to tell from your email that you are ARE, in fact, a clear and effective communicator. You do not have to be an amazing programmer that can do anything, you just have to be good at what we need.
I will not respond to emails that do not include any links to samples of your work, and I will not respond to emails that link to samples of your work that are broken (I got several of those last time I advertised for help, amazingly.)
You can earn additional money by assisting with the work involved in adding keywords to the images, but that will be lower-paying, and you will need to have adobe bridge.
Also: Mac is much preferred.
